The children were talking a lot about journeys and holidays so we created a Travel Agents in the classroom. The children have a telephone and a laptop for imaginative play and can also serve drinks to customers.
I created a questionnaire so agents could ask customers 'How they would like to travel?' "Where they would like to go?' etc and we added maps and brochures to expand discussion and learning opportunities.
The role play extended from the Travel Agents to the construction area as the planned journeys took place. Boats, trains and planes were made, holidays planned and tickets bought!
